We had our day bags x-rayed outside of Hotel New York at the entry into Disneyland Paris’ Disney Village (their version of Downtown Disney) in September 2012. This security feature has been in place at that point since that time. The scanning mechanism wasn’t required to get into the park for whatever reason, just in the transition from the Hotel New York to Disney Village. I didn’t understand that, but I have to admit, it made me feel more secure. I assumed this had been instituted everywhere after our trip to Disneyland Paris, but was surprised when I hadn’t seen it in any of the other parks.
