Halloween comes to Disney’s Magic Kindgom

It’s that special time of year at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. You can almost feel Fall in the air.  The park has been decorated for Halloween. Mickey’s No So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom start September 13, 2011.

This event requires a special ticket to attend. I recommend purchasing your tickets in advance.  You have the option of having them shipped, you can print the tickets at home or pick them up at the Will Call Window at the Ticket and Transportation Center. They do offer reduced pricing on certain nights along with discounts for annual pass holders and military.  If you have never been to this event you might want to purchase a party ticket and then visit the Magic Kingdom after 4 PM when they start allowing party guests in the park.  You might want to make this a resort pool day until it is time for the party. Just a reminder that if you are an annual passholder you will need to pay for parking if you arrive after the park has closed to regular day guests.

If you are planning on dining during the party you should make early dining reservations.  Once the party starts the sit down restaurants close leaving a few counter service options if you are hungry.

When you enter the park for the party you will need to wear a wristband.  After 7 PM cast members will be checking at the attractions and stores, you will not be allowed to enter without a wristband.

You should make sure to pick up the special park map and times guide as you enter so you can plan your evening.  There are special events happening all evening.  Some events are only performed once so you don’t want to miss them.

This year there will be new candy stations because of the construction in Fantasyland.  The former Alice and Mad Hatter’s Treat Trail that was in Toontown has become Br’er Rabbit’s Candy Patch and will be in Frontierland near Splash Mountain.

There will be no face painting station this year. If you would like to see Disney Characters in their Halloween Costumes you should plan a visit to the Town Square Theater.  You will find Mickey, Minnie and the Disney Princesses there.  Outside by the flagpole will be Duffy the Disney Bear and Winnie the Pooh and Friends.  Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs will also be located in Frontierland.

Disney ‘s Villians Mix and Mingle by the castle is supposed to have some new items this year. Be sure to allow plenty of time to get a spot for the parade featuring the Headless Horseman.

See you at the party!

Thats a bummer that there is no face painting this year. That was one of the things that I thought made the price of admission a little easier to swallow. Great pics!
