In spite of the economy, Universal (like Sea World) plans to unveil new attractions this year, starting with Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit – a new coaster slated to open sometime this spring (early May is what we’re hearing).
The site – http://www.hollywoodrockit.com touts the attraction as being “the most personalized and immersive roller coaster experience in the world”. The site also includes a blog by Louis Alfieri, the rides creative director who shares insight on the construction process.

Okay, who’s going to ride with me??? C’mon….someone has to…
this one gets filed under: You Couldn’t Pay Me!!!
The reason these theme parks are still expanding, is simple. Significant capital was invested years ago on these projects. It would be too expensive to not build them. IT has been reported that it can take 24-36 months in pre-construction work for a major ride. Where it gets scary is the rides that are NOT being ordered today for 2011 – 2012.
I have new pictures of the ride from inside the construction area. Anyone interested in seeing them?
